Atlanta Falcons have started the season off with a 4-2 start after week seven. The record that the Falcons boast is pretty good, but the only problem is they’re in the Saints division. The Falcons sit 2nd in the NFC South division right now and are only behind the Saints. I personally don’t think that the Falcons will be able to beat the Saints this year in the division which means there only hope is to make the playoffs through a wildcard berth.

The Falcons first loss of the season came against New England Patriots in week 3. The Falcons didn’t lose their second game until this past week against the Cowboys. The Falcons defence had trouble most of the game and Matt Ryan didn’t have one of his better games which caused the loss in Dallas. One thing that Atlanta has going for them is that most of their team is very young. Matt Ryan has been handling his job this year wonderfully and he should be a good long-term fit in Atlanta.

So for this season Matt Ryan has thrown for 11TD’s and only 6INT’s which is a good ratio for a young QB like Matt. A couple other stats that I like so far this season is that Matt has completed over 60% of his passes and he has a QB rating of over 90 right now. If he can keep up those types of numbers then he is going to have no problem staying a QB in the NFL for a long time. Michael Turner has been handling most of the running duties in the early part of the season. Turner has run for 403 yards and a whopping 7TD’s.

The online football betting passing game for Atlanta has been kind of slow this year and I think they really need to work on this part of their game. The Falcons only have four players right now with more then 10 catches which isn’t going to cut it these days in the NFL. If it weren’t for Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez the Falcons passing game would be almost invisible. I think that Ryan needs to try and work in the RB’s more into the passing game so that it can draw in the coverage from LB’s and open up the field a bit more.

When on the defensive side of the ball Atlanta has been playing great. They have only allowed an average of 19 football odds points per game this season which is 11th best in the league. The Falcons defence has been giving up more yards per game then basically every team, but they have been able to hold the other teams to field goals for the most part. It’s great that the defence has been able to hold opponents to only field goals, but at the same time they need to improve a bit so that they give up fewer yards per game. If the Falcons defence continues giving up 368.3 yards per game then I have a bad feeling that it’s going to cost them some games.
